It is a good quality ruby brigh red precious gem securely crimped into a 9ct nickel free gold ball. The ruby gemstone used is a 2.5mm round stone which is 0.058 of a carat or 5.9 pts, similar in size of the standard 4mm jewelled ball you can find on the body jewellery market with synthetic stones, but the big difference here is that here you get a Real Ruby ! You can choose either threaded in 1.6mm or 1.2mm..or just dimpled for use with ball closure rings. Just make sure you get the right thread size 1.2mm or 1.6mm for your jewellery if you go for the threaded type. And if you choose the dimpled dotted type ball, ensure that the opening of the ring you have will fit.
